Water Conservation Programs

The connection between water use and energy use has been established and revisited by the Energy Commission and others. (See the Commission's two reports linked below.)

Saving water saves energy and saving energy reduces greenhouse gas emissions; the amount of energy saved and greenhouse gases avoided varying by location throughout the state.

Many water agencies have rebate programs for water-saving fixtures and appliances.
